Originated in Dhaka and West Bengal, it used to be a prized export commodity to the European markets. Mul cotton in the British era, was a 'luxury fabric worth the same as Gold and was one of the most expensive traded items around the world'. Its is biodegradable, long-lasting and sustainable. It speaks of Indian artisanry and a cherished part of the Indian heritage of fabrics.
Mul Cotton: Hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent and dry in shade only. Use a gentle iron.
